On July 11, 2025, The reporter recently learned that Gansu Construction Investment was responsible for the construction of the Zhangye LNG Reserve Center Phase II project. The second phase of civil engineering and the installation of equipment for the entire plant were successfully handed over, marking the official entry of the project into the commissioning and operation stage, laying a solid foundation for the final production of the project.
This project is another large-scale specialized installation project undertaken by Gansu Construction Investment Group, following the Zhangye Economic Development Zone Circular Economy Demonstration Park Heat Source Plant project. The project is located in Dongle Town, Shandan County, Zhangye City. It is a major natural gas emergency reserve and an important strategic energy guarantee base in the Hexi region. The second phase of the project covers an area of 155 acres and mainly includes the construction of a new LNG storage tank with a capacity of 29800 cubic meters, as well as the construction of a liquefied natural gas production plant and auxiliary production facilities that can process 1 million cubic meters of raw gas per day. Gansu Construction Investment Yi'an Company is responsible for the equipment installation and process pipeline construction tasks.
It is reported that as the main natural gas emergency reserve and important strategic energy security base in the Hexi region, Zhangye LNG Reserve Center occupies an important position in the field of energy security. After the project is put into operation, it is expected to meet the 5-day emergency gas storage needs of Zhangye Municipal Government and the 5% natural gas emergency reserve needs of 20 county-level urban gas enterprises in the province. The daily processing capacity of natural gas will reach 1 million cubic meters, and the storage capacity will reach 59600 cubic meters. At that time, this will become the largest natural gas emergency reserve base in Gansu Province, providing a solid guarantee for the province's energy security and stable supply. It will also play a more critical leading role in regional energy layout, injecting a continuous stream of "blue power" into local economic development and people's well-being.
